Time for a bit of breaking news from the DCEU. Variety reporter Justin Kroll has taken to twitter to drop the news that the script for The Flash / Flashpoint has been turned in to Warner Bros. In the same tweet Kroll mentions that Phil Lord and Chris Miller are no longer in the running to direct.

DCEU fans will remember that The Flash has been through several scripts and directors over the course of its development. Most recently Lord & Miller were back in the frame to direct alongside Hollywood legend Robert Zemeckis. Kroll confirms that Zemeckis is still in the running although notes that Warner Bros. will continue to meet with other directors.

Most notably the original announcement of The Flash was superseded at this years San Diego Comic Con with the news that DC Films were working on a live action adaption of the Flashpoint storyline. More on this story as it develops…
