‘Power Rangers’ finally comes to China this weekend. After topping out at $84.7m in the US the films global total currently sits at $135.4m. It’s not the result that studio Lionsgate were hoping for but it’s by no means a disaster. With China releasing this week and Japan dropping on July 15 there’s a hope that the franchise homeland might be its saviour.
In readiness for the Chinese release a swathe of new posters have been released. Interestingly the marketing team in China has decided to swap out the traditional dinosaurs to align the Rangers to more traditional Chinese creatures. It’s an odd choice but sure makes for some great artwork.
