We’ve known for some time that Warner Bros. was lining up a sequel to ‘Man of Steel’. The question on the minds of fans across the world was who would take the directors chair? Collider has an idea about who that person might be.
In an exclusive report published earlier today they have named Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class, Kingsman) as the front runner. The report goes on to say that Warner Bros. are currently in talks with Vaughn. No deal has been signed but it’s noted that should he turn down ‘Man of Steel 2’ they will likely partner with him on a future superhero film.
Released in 2013 ‘Man of Steel’ was the first entry in what is now known as the DC Extended Universe. The first DC film directed by Zack Snyder it introduced the world to Henry Cavill as Superman. Despite a lukewarm reception the film made $668M worldwide.
No release date has been set for ‘Man of Steel 2’ but we’ll keep you updated on news as it comes in!
