Comic book publisher IDW recently announced titles which will be hitting the shelves in August 2022. Amongst the titles which will be dropping as summer draws to a close is a brand new Star Trek: Picard miniseries.
Star Trek: Picard – Stargazer comes from writers Mike Johnson & Kirsten Beyer and will explore a story set between seasons 2 and 3 of the Paramount+ series. Beyer also acts as a writer and executive producer on the series.
A short synopsis for the first issue reads:
Embark on a never-before-seen journey set between seasons two and three of the Paramount+ hit series Star Trek: Picard! After a tantalizing offer to return among the stars arises, Captain Jean Luc-Picard takes to the bridge of the U.S.S. Stargazer. But when trouble rears its head on a once peaceful, pre-warp planet from his past, Picard enlists the help of an old friend.
Could the old friend be one of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast who is joining Admiral Picard for his third, and final, season?
The publisher confirmed there will be four covers for the series’ debut issue: A cover by Angel Hernandez, B cover by Megan Levens, a retailer incentive variant cover by Liana Kangas, and a final variant available only in the IDW store which has yet to be revealed.
Star Trek: Picard season two cast members include Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Orla Brady, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Brent Spiner. This season’s cast also includes Annie Wersching and special guest stars Whoopi Goldberg, and John de Lancie.
