It has been ten months since we received our first trailer to the latest adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic novel, Dune, and today Warner Bros. Pictures finally released the second trailer to the blockbuster movie. Denis Villeneuve’s follow-up to Blade Runner 2049 has been highly-anticipated amongst film fans due to its huge cast and the acclaimed source material.
Based off Herbert’s book, Dune follows Paul Atreides (played by Timothée Chalamet), a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet on the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence – a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential, only to those who can conquer their fears will survive.
This version of the source material directed by Villeneuve will be split into two chapters with this film being Part One of this epic story. If this first movie is a success, we can expect to see Part Two releasing in cinemas in the coming years.
The second trailer gives audiences a better look at the story for the film while displaying some fantastic high-stakes action. It also builds the mythology of the planet Arrakis and gives us glimpses of some fantastic performances from the cast. Hans Zimmer’s score is also teased here by giving an otherworldly piece of music that we have never seen before from the composer.

Dune stars Timothee Chalamet in the lead role of Paul Atreides. He will be joined by Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Zendaya as Chani, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as “The Beast” Rabban, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho and Charlotte Rampling as the Reverend Mother.
The film hits cinemas on October 21, 2021.
