VIZ Media, a leading global producer of manga and anime, has greenlit a television anime adaptation of Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite, the supernatural romantic comedy from Kamisama Kiss creator Julietta Suzuki.
Alongside the announcement, VIZ Media has unveiled the anime’s first teaser trailer and key art. Originally serialised in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine in November 2022, the manga made its English-language debut through VIZ Media in October 2024.
Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite centress on Hina, a reclusive vampire whose devotion to her favourite fictional character far outweighs her appetite for blood.
Watch a teaser for the series in the player below:
Even vampires obsess over their favorite characters!
After spending 30 years as a shut-in, the vampire Hina moves to Japan to enjoy otaku activities. There, she meets her neighbor, Kyuta Amanatsu, a boy who looks just like her favorite character! What’s more, his blood is something special, irresistible to vampires everywhere.
As other vampires show up with their sights set on Kyuta, his relationship with Hina takes an unexpected turn.
Is she fangirling…or falling in love?!
A 100% otaku vampire meets a handsome, slightly sharp-tongued guy in this bloody romantic comedy!
The newly unveiled key art captures Hina reclining inside her coffin, surrounded by merchandise devoted to her favorite character. A blood bag sits nearby, a playful nod to her aversion to drinking directly from humans, a practice she considers unhygienic.
The accompanying teaser trailer features artwork from Suzuki’s original manga, offering a first glimpse of Hina’s obsessive fandom and the unlikely romance that unfolds following her encounter with Kyuta.
