In our four star review of the film Matt said “Minor storytelling gripes aside, Evil Dead Burn is a phenomenal time at the movies for Evil Dead fans. It is unnecessarily mean, it is incredibly messy, and it is beautifully orchestrated chaos. While it might not rewrite the book on Deadites, it tears through the pages it has with absolute, glorious ferocity that is sure to feed those hungry for some over the top 18 gore and violence.”
The SteelBook features artwork by Adam Middleton in collaboration with director Vaniček, and the Ultimate Collector’s Edition, with exclusive artwork by Sophie Bland, is presented in a rigid box with magnetic opening, bursting with gruesome goodies including storyboards, Book of the Dead pages, alternate poster art cards, a production notes book, and two posters. A set that no true Evil Dead fan should be without.
Bonus features on the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release include:
- The Hot Shot: Evil Dead Burn’s One-Shot Sequence
- Evil Dead: Blazing the Trail
- This One’s Gonna Burn
The film is directed by Sébastien Vaniček (Infested) and stars Souheila Yacoub (Dune: Part Two), Tandi Wright (Pearl), Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent), Errol Shand (The Clearing), George Pullar (Deadloch), Maude Davey (The Dry) and Greta Van Den Brink (Territory).
It is written by Florent Bernard and Sébastien Vaniček, and produced by Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, with executive producers Romel Adam, Bruce Campbell, Lee Cronin and Jose Canas. Vaniček is joined behind the camera by director of photography Philip Lozano (Cobweb), production designer Nick Connor (Ash vs Evil Dead), editor Maxime Caro (Marion) and costume designer Sarah Voon (Evil Dead Rise).
Packed with outrageously gruesome effects, and some truly jaw-dropping shocks that will have you screaming loud enough to wake the dead, Evil Dead Burn stands proudly alongside the original 1981 classic, and is a superbly entertaining addition to the Evil Dead franchise.
Evil Dead Burn will be available to buy and rent from digital platforms on 24 August, and to own on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD from 12 October. Pre-order here.
