The truth is returning to comic book stores as Dynamite Entertainment announces plans for a brand series of The X-Files. Even bigger news, the book which is set to launch later this year will be masterminded by Joe Harris, writer of the seasons 10 and 11 series at IDW.
In all, Harris has written over 50 issues of the adventures of Mulder and Scully, working tirelessly to expand the series already dense lore. Already the longest known writer in The X-Files comics, Harris will be teaming with Dead Acre: Black Badge artist Riley Brown for this brand new series.
Dynamite is keeping plot details under wraps but the publisher has shared cover art for the series debut as well as character designs for both Mulder and Scully.
“The X-Files has always been sacred to me,” writer Joe Harris said in a statement. “From my own early TV fandom on Friday and Sunday nights to getting to work on one of the greatest supernatural thriller/science fiction franchises in history, the further adventures of Agents Mulder and Scully have occupied a very special place in my head and career. I am beyond honored to write them and I am absolutely over the moon to work with Dynamite on this new series.”
“The X-Files is the next jewel in the crown for us at Dynamite in working with Disney and entering 20th Century territories, hot on the heels of Kelly Thompson’s Buffy the Vampire Slayerand Angel epic,” said Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher, added. “Multiple generations have loved following the cases of Mulder and Scully, and they translate absolutely perfectly to the format and serialized nature of comic books. We’re working to make sure longtime fans and newcomers will love the new stories, and can’t wait to share more!”
Stay tuned for more details on the series and the announcement of its release date, coming soon.
