The fourth Spider-Man film is untitled no-more. Overnight, during the Sony Pictures panel at CinemaCon, the studio has unveiled the fourth film to star Tom Holland is officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Holland, currently filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, appeared in a video clip to announce the film’s title and to confirm its July 31, 2026 release date. Director Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) also took the stage at CinemaCon, joking that he had just lost $200 at the roulette table in Las Vegas.
“To say that it’s an honour to be standing on this stage is a pretty big understatement,” Cretton said. He explained that he was a lifelong fan of the character and has been drawn to Peter Parker’s “humour” and “messy humanity.”
A new logo treatment for the film was also revealed and shared across the studio’s social media channels:
Peter Parker was last seen on cinema screens as the web-slinger in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which amassed an impressive $1.9 billion at the global box office. That film was helmed by Jon Watts, who also directed 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The title of Brand New Day refers to an arc from Marvel Comics which began back in 2008. The story takes place after the world has forgotten who Spider-Man is. Sound familiar? That ties in perfectly with the end of No Way Home when Peter chose to have all his surviving loved ones forget their multiversal experience. The Brand New Day storyline controversially removed Peter’s marriage to Mary Jane Watson upsetting long-time fans.
Zendaya is expected to return to the role of MJ alongside the recently announced Sadie Sink who takes on a mystery role. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna penned the new Spider-Man film after previously writing No Way Home.
