Wonder Woman is continuing its domination of box offices worldwide after crossing the $550m mark. After the final receipts had been counted the film fell only 29.5% in its third weekend at the North American box office. The Patty Jenkins directed film was able to take in another $41.3m after expectations set the bar at $30-35m. However it wasn’t a high enough performance to stop Wonder Woman from falling to second place. Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3 took the top spot with a respectable $53.6m. Great news for Star Trek fans today as CBS has confirmed the premiere date for its newest adventure. Star Trek: Discovery has been pushed back on a number of occasions whilst the production settled in to its process, but posting a tweet to the shows official account the network has confirmed a September date for the shows pilot to air. https://twitter.com/startrekcbs/status/876831970839347202 The series will premiere on the main CBS network before moving to its new on demand platform. Another weekend at the box office has drawn to a close. As the dust settles and the receipts are counted it is Wonder Woman who has once again come out on top. Entering its second weekend the press placed Wonder Woman somewhere in the $50-$60m window as the North American box office. Taking an estimated $15.8m on Friday, $24.3m on Saturday and $17m on Sunday the film crossed the $200m mark. It’s with great sadness that we bring you the news that Adam West has passed away. At the age of 88 West had been battling leukaemia for a short period and lost that battle yesterday. Reports state that he was surrounded by family in his final hours. He is survived by his wife Marcelle, six children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Yesterday we brought you the first poster for Black Panther. Overnight as promised Marvel Studios and Disney released the films first teaser trailer. Though the film isn’t due for release until February 2018 the trailer is still packed with almost two minutes of footage.
