Netflix is gearing up for the release of Jessica Jones third and final season in June. The streaming platform last night announced that a new, full trailer for the series will debut later today. In doing so they also release a new poster which you can check out below. Some interesting casting news this morning. TV Line is reporting that The Royals actress Elizabeth Hurley has joined the cast of Marvel’s Runaways season three. Hurley will be taking on the role of evil sorceress Morgan le Fay. In the comics le Fay has ties to Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom, Spider-Woman, and the legendary King Arthur. A brief statement from Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb said: “Elizabeth Hurley is joining the Marvel Universe, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her portraying one of the most enchanting Marvel characters.” The Runaways have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and…

Last night we were invited to the Sony offices in London for a screening of upcoming superhero-horror movie Brightburn. Whilst we were deep in to our screening Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Warner Bros. were dropping this intensely colourful first poster for Wonder Woman 1984. Warner Bros. has confirmed that it’s movie arm will be skipping Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Dark Phoenix is now in cinemas across the UK and hits North America tomorrow. In the early hours of yesterday morning the review embargo lifted and we finally got an idea of what the critics thought. At the time of writing the movie holds a score of 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, the lowest of any movie in the X-Men franchise. Fans of X-Men comics will no doubt know that the relationship between Logan and Jean Grey plays an important part of the Dark Phoenix storyline. Likewise that relationship was a huge factor in the X-Men: The Last Stand movie. Amazon Prime has unveiled the first teaser for upcoming fantasy series Carnival Row. The series comes from the mind of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Rene Echevarria, who also serves as showrunner, Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim) and Paul McGuigan (Victor Frankenstein). Finally we have some potential news on when Doctor Strange 2 might enter production. Star Benedict Wong recently appeared at Denver Pop Culture Con and LRM (via CBR) has some news for you… Whilst appearing at the convention Wong was quote as saying “I know they’ve now got a writer on board who I met at the Endgame premiere. Sad news for Image Comics fans this morning as Deadline is reporting that SYFY has announced it is cancelling both Deadly Class and Happy!. Both series have struggled in with their rating this season though it is understood they will be shopped to other networks and streaming platforms for potential renewals. Deadly Class is based on the ongoing series by Rick Remender and Wes Craig. The series followed Marcus, an orphan in the 1980s Bay Area who gets recruited into a secret private school for assassins.
