As February draws to a close, 2020 finally gets its first breakout horror hit as Blumhouse and Universal Pictures The Invisible Man exceeds all expectations to take the top spot. Directed by Leigh Whannell (and reviewed by our own James), The Invisible Man opens with an estimated $29m in the domestic market. According to BoxOfficeMojo opening day audiences gave the film a “B+” CinemaScore, a great score for a genre specific film like this.
