Tom King hit the headlines recently for his exit from the on-going Batman series at DC Comics. Rumours had the prolific writer bring removed from the series due to declining sales. Then it was announced that the reminder of his Batman arc would play out in a new maxi-series Batman/Catwoman which hits shelves from January 2020. Last night Warner Bros. debuted its first look at Doctor Sleep, the movie continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in The Shining. Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and newcomer Kyliegh Curran star in the supernatural thriller, directed by Mike Flanagan, from his own screenplay based upon the novel by Stephen King. Despite only debuting in last night’s episode of Krypton it seems Emmett J. Scanlan’s Lobo has had a huge impact on network executives. Overnight THR has reported that network SYFY has begun developing a spin-off series to star the character. EPIX has released a new trailer to promote the upcoming debut of Pennyworth. The first season of the Gotham adjacent (not spin-off) series will debut in North America in July. The full trailer shows the first meeting between Alfred (Jack Bannon) and Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge) as well as teasing plenty of action featuring villainess Bet (Paloma Faith).
