Deadline is reporting that former Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have signed a very lucrative deal to move over to streaming behemoth Netflix. The reportedly 9-figure deal will see them write, produce, and direct new series and films for the streaming service. Netflix confirmed to the trade it had won the deal but refused to share specific numbers regarding their new contract. Sony has reportedly tapped Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer Chris Miller, and producing partner Phil Lord, to champion the development of a Spider-Man TV Universe. According to a report from Deadline, Sony currently owns the rights to around 900 Marvel characters including the entire of the Spider-Man universe. The trade as discussed development with Miller who had this to say: “We are developing a handful of live-action shows using Sony’s Marvel characters, of which there are like 900 characters.
