With Birds of Prey now in cinemas world wide the guessing game begins as to how much money the film will make in its opening weekend. The Hollywood Reporter is predicting that the Cathy Yan directed picture will gross in the region of $50m in North America. A conservative number by most comic book movies but remember that Birds of Prey is R-rated in the US meaning its audience is already smaller than wider, PG-13 releases. There’s no denying that Knives Out was a huge success with both critics and fans. The Rain Johnson film holds a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 92% audience score. Johnson has been outspoken about the fact he would like to continue the franchise by telling more stories starring Daniel Craig’s charming Detective Benoit Blanc. Yesterday we brought you the news that Spider-Man director Sam Raimi is strongly rumoured to be replacing Scott Derrickson to direct Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness for Marvel Studios. Well Derrickson heard the rumour and endorsed Raimi on social media. “I’ve worked with Sam Raimi. One of the nicest people I’ve known in the film business, and as a director, a true living legend. Production appears to be underway on The Matrix 4 in San Francisco and fans have already spotted Keanu Reeves on set. It has been confirmed that the final season of Arrow is soon heading our way on home video and the Blu-ray release will feature a rather seminal moment in the so-called Arrowverse. Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim has confirmed that a bonus disc on the release will feature the full five-part Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event.
