Last night the internet went in to overdrive as Warner Bros. announced that Matt Reeves will direct ‘The Batman’. Fans were concerned at Warner Bros. decision to not include a quote or any mention of Ben Affleck in the official press release. Producer Adi Shankar (‘Power/Rangers’) has shared the first poster for his upcoming Netflix adaption of ‘Castlevania’. Netflix has commissioned two season of the series but has yet to announce its cast or premiere date. Speaking on his Facebook page to announce the series Shankar said, ‘It’s going to be dark, satirical, and after a decade of propaganda it will flip the vampire sub-genre on its head.’ He spoke more about the series earlier this month saying, ‘Furthermore, I personally guarantee that it will end the streak and be the western world’s first good video game adaptation.’

Here’s some news we didn’t expect today: ‘The LEGO Movie’ director is apparently in talks to direct a live-action ‘Nightwing’ film! Back in January McKay threw his hat in the ring as wanting to direct a DCEU film. Responding to a fan on Twitter McKay stated he was meeting with DC Comics – likely Geoff Johns – to make a pitch himself. Now THR is reporting that pitch was for a live-action ‘Nightwing’ film. The report goes as far as to say that ‘The Accountant’ scribe Bill Dubuque is currently working on the script. Today Warner Bros. one-upped it’s naysayers by officially announcing that Reeves has signed on to take the directors chair. A short time ago Warner released the following statement: BURBANK, Calif. Today marks one month to go until the release of ‘Power Rangers’! The marketing machine behind the monster reboot is beginning to go in to overdrive. Earlier this week the first cast photo for ‘Alien: Covenant’ was released via the films official Twitter account. 20th Century Fox also took the opportunity to announce that a promo for the film was due this week. That promo took the form of a video shown during this weeks episode of ‘Legion’ on FX. Fans expected the first teaser for the film or a short sizzle reel. However that was not the case. Breaking news overnight via THR, director Matt Reeves has stepped away from talks with Warner Bros. over ‘The Batman’. A ‘studio source’ has confirmed to the press that around one week after entering the talks Reeves has left proceedings. The source concludes that Warner and Reeves could come back to the table once heads have cooled. In the meantime Warner Bros. will now look to one of its other options. Before Reeves entered formal talks it was reported that Warner Bros. were also courting famed director Ridley Scott and relative newcomer Fede Alvarez. Could one of these two be back…
