With Batman in his 75th year it was inevitable that both Warner Bros. and DC Comics would be pulling no punches in bringing The Dark Knight to us in as many different facets as possible. One which I hadn’t anticipated would be ‘Batman Eternal’ a weekly addition to the monthly ‘Batman’ title and it’s various already existing offshoots. Whilst ‘Batman’ finishes up the ‘Zero Year’ arc set firmly in the titular heroes past the rest of the Bat-family titles sit firmly in the present day with little to tie them all together in terms of story. UPDATE: Studio estimates on Sunday are forecasting that ‘TMNT’ will take $65M at the domestic box office over the weekend, with an additional $28.7M from overseas openings the franchise reboot looks set for a worldwide opening weekend of $93.7M. The domestic total sets the film up as the fourth biggest opening weekend for August behind ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ and ‘Rush Hour 2’. Ever since the announcement that ‘Batman v Superman’ would be released on the same day as Marvel’s ‘Captain America 3’ speculation has been rife that one of the films would budge but nobody quite expected an announcement like this! One of the most talked about stories in the ‘X-Men’ universe this year has been the loss of Anna Paquin’s Rogue from this years ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. First glimpsed in the trailer and part of the early promo it was announced before the films release that scenes featuring Rogue had been cut from the film. In readiness for Friday’s US release of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Paramount Pictures has released a batch of new hi-res images which you can find in the gallery above. Film review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes currently has the film as 33% fresh but has yet to make a final ruling on the film as only 11 reviews have been collected so far giving an average score of 4.5/10.
