An unnamed Fox executive has apparently lifted the lid on how the studios merger with Disney is impacting on the marketing of Dark Phoenix. In an interview with Vanity Fair the executive, who chose to remain anonymous stated “We know when we are dropping a trailer, but we are nowhere near where we should be at this time. Beginning in June DC Comics is bringing back the legendary Frank Miller for a new series focussing on the Man of Steel. Miller will be working with artist John Romita Jr. on Superman: Year One. The new series will drop its first, super-sized, issue in June with the second issue arriving in August. The third and final issue will be released in October and the collected volume will then debut in November. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that the upcoming Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will drop on digital platforms in North America on May 14, 2019. As per the usual release window the physical DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD release will follow on June 4, 2019. As expected Captain Marvel has won a second weekend at the global box office. In doing so the movie has surpassed a huge $760M world wide. In North America the Marvel Studios released topped the chart with an estimated $69.3M. That’s a drop of around -54.8% on opening weekend which is average for this type of movie. After ten days in domestic release the movie has now grossed $266M. Captain Marvel opened in Japan this week with an estimated $5.6M placing it at #1 in the chart there. Director Matt Reeves has shared an update on The Batman on twitter. Reeves held an impromptu Q&A session with fans early on Friday. Whilst any of the questions were, of course, utterly random, and the director gave no groundbreaking news he did confirm one important detail.
