Game of Thrones returned this past Sunday with a record breaking premiere for its final season. Spidey is on the move in North America. Sony Pictures has confirmed that the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home will shift from its planned July 5 release date to July 2. The three-day move is understood to be to take advantage of the Independence Day holidays on Thursday, July 4. The extra holiday will be sure to give the movie a boost at the box office. Variety is reporting that former WWE superstar turned actor John Cena (Bumblebee) is in talks to join James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. It’s reported by entertainment reporter Justin Kroll that Cena is under consideration to play Peacemaker. Initial reports understood that Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) was in talks to take on the role until scheduling conflicts forced him to drop out. Sad news for fans of FOX’s The Gifted this morning as it has been confirmed the series has been cancelled after two seasons. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the series will not be returning for a third season. The Gifted hailed from 20th Century Fox TV which now finds itself under the ownership of Disney. With the X-Men characters returning home to Marvel many had anticipated that the show would not survive even before the ratings began to fall. Yesterday was a big day for news on DC Universe upcoming Swamp Thing series. Firstly it appeared the show was in jeopardy when actress Virginia Madsen tweeted that production has been abruptly shut down. In a now deleted Instagram post the actress said “I’m beyond sad. This latest look at what could potentially be the last of the Fox X-Men movies teases a whole lot more action from the movie.
