Director Carlota Pereda—the acclaimed filmmaker behind the Sitges Méliès d’Or-winning sensation Piggy—is making her English-language feature debut with Found Alive, starring Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass). The psychological thriller has officially been selected as the festival’s Opening Night film and will make its grand premiere on the 8th October.
A Deadly Game of Cat-and-Mouse
Based on the book by Carla Norton, Found Alive follows the journey of Reeve LeClaire (Moretz). A decade after escaping her own sadistic captor as a teenager, Reeve agrees to mentor a newly rescued teen survivor. However, when details in the girl’s story reveal clues to other victims who are still missing, Reeve follows the leads that others have dismissed—risking her own safety as she steps directly back into the sights of a dangerous predator to save them before time runs out.
Alongside Moretz, the 97-minute thriller boasts an impressive cast including Rupert Friend (Homeland), Scott Haze (Child of God), Keith Jardine, and Thomas Cocquerel.
The screenplay was co-written by Matt Venne, Lori Evans Taylor, and Carlota Pereda. The film is produced by Nate Bolotin, Guy Danella, Matt Miller, Andrew Deane, and Ava Jamshidi.
Lucky viewers can experience Found Alive as it opens the Sitges Film Festival on the 8th October, with further release details expected to follow!
