It’s a strong week for DC Studios properties in the streaming world. Supergirl continues to ride high on the HBO Max film charts whilst her cousin Superman performs strongly on Netflix in the territories where it’s available. Meanwhile the studios latest live-action series, Lanterns, has just been confirmed to hold on in the Nielsen streaming charts for another week.
Despite not debuting during its first couple of weeks on the air, Lanterns made its first appearance on last week’s chart with 500m minutes watched across episodes 1-4. That, teams with the streamer’s announcement that the first two episodes had given the platform one of its top ten debuts of all time, signalled that Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) were performing well out of the gate.
Nielsen has now released its figures for the week of September 7-13, 2026 and Lanterns is holding strong. The series remains at #8 in the chart, but its overall viewing figures for the week rise from 500m minutes watched to 525 minutes.
It’s difficult to translate those figures directly as Nielsen doesn’t break it down per episode. It’s also worth nothing these charts run Monday to Sunday meaning episode 5 of Lanterns had only been available for a short time before data for the chart is closed off. In broad terms the series averaged 105m minutes watched per-episode during that week. It also remains the only series on the chart with under 100 episodes available to view. So all-in-all this is a strong performance for DC and HBO Max.
