IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN! In response to phenomenal demand, last year’s sell-out cultural event A Gathering of the Angels: A Celebration of the World of David Lynch is set to return this September, once again paying tribute to the late avant-garde auteur.

The extraordinary event invites fans of Lynch – whose groundbreaking work includes Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and Blue Velvet – to come together to celebrate David’s singular vision and surreal imagination. Taking place on 26 and 27 September 2026 at the iconic Genesis Cinema in Whitechapel, London, the spectacular tribute encourages audiences to immerse themselves in the haunting cinematic beauty and surreal brilliance of Lynch’s world, honouring a legacy that reshaped the language of film.

Created by TPUK Events, the team behind the hugely successful Twin Peaks UK Festival, A Gathering of the Angels will feature guest panels and Q&A’s, screenings, live performances, live music, immersive elements, and much much more, over two evocative days, conjuring the strange magic that made Lynch’s work unforgettable.

Lynchian legends set to appear in person include:

    • Harry Goaz, who made a loveable impression in Twin Peaks as Deputy Andy Brennan, and has since reprised his role in 2017’s Twin Peaks: The Return.
    • Ian Buchanan, a firm fan favourite thanks to his wonderful portrayal of the dapper Dick Tremayne in Twin Peaks. Also headed up the cast of Lynch and Frost’s On The Air and is known to the wider world for his long running role of Duke Lavery on the popular American soap opera General Hospital.
    • George Griffith, the new bad guy of Twin Peaks: The Return gained an army of fans through his portrayal of Ray Monroe.
    • Sabrina S. Sutherland, Lynch’s longtime collaborator and right-hand, who served as executive producer on Twin Peaks: The Return, Inland Empire, and What Did Jack Do?

Both days will also grant audiences exclusive access to two Lynch Creatives online panels, spotlighting the artists and technicians who helped shape Lynch’s singular vision.

On Saturday, the first panel will focus on the 40th Anniversary of Blue Velvet, offering rare behind-the-scenes insights into one of Lynch’s most disturbing works. Lynch collaborators announced so far are Editor Duwayne Dunham, Assistant Editor Jonathan P. Shaw and Sound Re-recordist Mark Berger.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the second panel will focus on the 20th Anniversary of Inland Empire. Announced so far are Associate Producer Jay Aaseng (who also played the Drunk in Twin Peaks: The Return), and Special Effects Supervisor Gary D’ Amico, with Sabrina Sutherland taking part in person with the online creatives.

Further special guests will be announced in the lead-up to the event.

In additional to the above guest panels, audiences can expect big-screen presentations of both Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Blue Velvet, a Lynch-themed Cosplay competition, as well as a whole host of incredible activities that celebrate the enduring influence of Lynch’s cinematic universe.

A special highlight of the event will be the live-action Blue Velvet Immersive Experience – an immersive theatrical experience designed by Jos Porath, the creative force behind the acclaimed Black Lodge installation at the 2019 Twin Peaks UK Festival and the Mulholland Drive Dreamscape at last year’s Gathering. This delectably Lynchian adventure will plunge guests into the seductive, disturbing world of Blue Velvet, blending the everyday of small-town America with the dark, surreal undercurrents that define Lynch’s work. Parts cavenger hunt, part dream logic, the experience invites audiences to step inside the story, surrounded by fellow adventurers, unravelling mysteries and exploring the mind-bending terrain of Lynch’s imagination from the inside out.

Owls are an essential part of the world of Twin Peaks, where they represent manifestations of inhabitants of the Black Lodge. This year’s Gathering of the Angels will celebrate these beautiful mysterious creatures with the hauntingly-titled event The Call of the Owl, during which live owls will swoop amongst the audience. This majestic adventure will be hosted by a trained falconer from the English School of Falconry, who will teach audience members whether or not the owls are really not what they seem…

Music will echo throughout the weekend in The Slow Club, a secret bar lovingly recreated from the Blue Velvet set design. Here, guests can soak up the atmosphere, test their knowledge in The Great Lynchian Quiz, and enjoy live music performances.

Elsewhere in the venue, A Gathering of the Angels will host the Angels Art Gallery, a curated exhibition of Lynch-inspired works, alongside a short film programme showcasing new and visionary takes on Lynch’s legacy.

For those seeking a more permanent tribute, acclaimed L.A. tattoo artist Lain Freefall will be in residence, offering bespoke tattoos drawn from the dreams (and nightmares) of Lynch’s world.

Sunday’s programme will feature live performances from the delectable The Double R Club, the East London-based burlesque and cabaret night inspired by the strange, seductive world of David Lynch. Known for their surreal and subversive style, the troupe promise to thrill and delight in equal measure.

As night falls, the celebration will end on a high with legendary DJ sets from DJ Yoda, who is renowned for his affection for the Lynchian universe and his cinematic, genre-blending sets – often infused with cult film and TV references, including nods to Twin Peaks. His set promises a surreal and joyful finale to the weekend.

The event will also feature three special charity auctions in support of three organisations close to the heart of the Lynchian community. Attendees will have the chance to bid on exclusive memorabilia and experiences, with all proceeds going to The David Lynch Foundation, Cabaret Vs Cancer, and Twin Peaks star Mädchen Amick’s mental health charity, Don’t Mind Me. From rare collectables to one-of-a-kind items, the auction offers fans a chance to take home a piece of Lynchian history while supporting meaningful causes.
