2026 is a big year for Star Trek. Not only is the franchise celebrating its 60th anniversary but Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home has a landmark birthday of its own to celebrate. The film is turning 40 this year and now Paramount Pictures has confirmed it will be screening in cinemas one again starting September 4, 2026.
To celebrate the anniversary the studio has debuted brand new poster art which has been created by celebrated artist Matt Ferguson:
In the film, a mysterious alien power threatens the atmosphere of Earth in the 23rd century, Kirk and his crew must time travel back to 1986 San Francisco to save mankind. Exploring this strange new world, they encounter punk rock, pizza and exact-change buses that are as alien as anything in the far reaches of the galaxy.
Directed by Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy, the film stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, George Takei, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols and Catherine Hicks.
In addition to the anniversary rerelease, 2026 will also see the 60th anniversary of the creation of Star Trek, which is being celebrated across Paramount, culminating in a big celebration to mark Star Trek Day on September 8
