Blue Finch Film Releasing has debuted the trailer for J-horror homage The Cursed, set to release on digital platforms in the UK on July 13, 2026.
In this terrifying homage to J-horror classics including Ringu and Ju-on, young Tokyo receptionist Riko decides to investigate her friend’s violent death. Convinced there is more to the story than suicide, she delves through social media into a world of memes and influencers looking for answers.
As the pile of bodies grows, Riko and her friends travel to Taiwan to uncover the source of this supernatural curse before she is consumed by it.

From director Kenichi Ugana, The Curse had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest 2025, where it won the ‘Best Kill’ award, and its UK premiere at FrightFest Glasgow.
The Curse arrives on digital platforms in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand from July 13, 2026.
