During Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, Capcom revealed a huge wave of upcoming games being ported across to the successfully Nintendo Switch 2, closing the gap between home and portable gaming just that little bit more.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Unleashed

In a announcement that stunned the RPG community, Capcom unveiled Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. The expansion summons the player back to the long-abandoned northern region of Norgan. Teaming up with an enigmatic new ally named Eir, the Arisen must unravel the grim secrets surrounding the undying Fallen Dragon. The journey will force players to unearth and appraise forgotten relics to unlock entirely new weapons and skills, alongside tackling 12 gruelling trials called “Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges” designed by the Pathfinder to recover rare equipment once wielded by past Arisen.

To bridge the gap until October though, Capcom is rolling out two major quality-of-life updates for the base game. On the 9th June, an update has immediately made fast travel far more accessible by adding the reusable Eternal Ferrystone with a second update tracking for the end of August promises to deliver improved frame rates, additional save slots, and further performance refinements.

This giant expansion is slated to hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on the 9th October 2026.
Simultaneously, a complete edition containing both the massive base game and the new Dark Arisen content will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 on that exact same day.

    Onimusha: Way of the Sword

After two decades of silence, one of Capcom’s most revered action franchises is finally returning. Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first brand-new entry in the series in over 20 years, will launch globally on the 25th September 2026. It will enjoy a day-and-date simultaneous release across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

This dark fantasy adventure follows the legendary young samurai Miyamoto Musashi as he battles a monstrous invasion of Genma demons tearing through Edo-period Kyoto. Armed with the mystical Oni Gauntlet, players will harness supernatural abilities to decimate hordes of underworld creatures.

Switch 2 players will get a uniquely tailored experience, featuring exclusive motion control support. Utilizing the new Joy-Con 2 controllers, players can intuitively slash their swords, parry incoming attacks, and seamlessly aim their bows using real-world physical gestures.

Pre-orders are officially live today on all digital storefronts.

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition

Capcom closed out their Nintendo Direct involvement with the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition, a feature-packed version of the critically acclaimed masterpiece designed specifically for Nintendo’s new hardware.

Launching digitally in just a few weeks on the 23rd June 2026, the Devil Hunter Edition lets players swap between Nero, Dante, V, and Vergil in a gloriously smooth 60 frames-per-second across both docked TV and handheld modes. It also comes standard with the Vergil character DLC, bonus costume colours, taunts, and classic battle tracks.

Digital buyers who pick up the game before the 7th July will secure an early-bird discount, while physical collectors can look forward to a boxed store release hitting shelves on the 28th August 2026.

I am an ex Royal Navy sailor who loves all things geek. I have a strong admiration of anime as well as western television shows and movies. From a young age I was into video games as well as TV shows, often spotted in front of a screen somewhere. My goal is to become a screenwriter/director one day and left the Royal Navy after 9 years to better pursue that dream of mine.
