KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Omega Force have officially announced that Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will launch worldwide later this year. Set for release on 1st October 2026, the remastered edition of the series classic is headed to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. To celebrate the announcement and the immediate opening of pre-orders, the publishers dropped an action-packed overview trailer detailing several brand-new mechanical overhauls coming to the classic title.
This remastered package brings together all original content from Dynasty Warriors 3 alongside its definitive expansion, Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends. Gamers can look forward to reliving the iconic “one versus thousands” historical battlefields with completely refined graphics and modernized control layouts.
The original roster of over 40 distinct officers makes a triumphant return, but they are not alone. In a surprise crossover event, Ziluan—the protagonist of the upcoming Dynasty Warriors: Origins—will also join the playable roster for this remaster.
While the core gameplay remains intact, Omega Force is introducing multiple new features to revitalize the loop:
- Evasion & Just Evasion: A new mobility option allows players to dodge incoming attacks or withdraw from a crowd. Executing this with flawless timing triggers a “Just Evasion,” which initiates a devastating counterattack.
- Perfect Power Guard: Building on the original’s defensive options, timing a classic Power Guard perfectly will now completely deflect an incoming enemy assault and leave opposing officers dazed and stunned.
- Weapon Fusion: A new progression system allows players to forge ultimate weapons by sacrificing unwanted gear, letting them transfer unique elemental attributes and skills directly onto their favorite blades.
- New Scenarios: The developers have injected hidden scenarios into the campaign that can be unlocked by meeting specific battlefield conditions, offering deeper story paths for the original cast.
For purists worried about these mechanical additions disrupting the classic nostalgia, Omega Force has implemented a comprehensive settings menu. Every single newly added feature can be individually toggled on or off. For maximum convenience, players can select “Classic Settings” to instantly disable all modern mechanics for an experience identical to the original release, or choose “Normal Settings” to activate the recommended remastered suite.
The highly acclaimed offline 2-player split-screen mode also makes its return. Friends can team up or challenge each other head-to-head across the game’s classic “Musou Mode,” “Free Mode,” and “VS Mode” options.
Pre-Order Details and Digital Deluxe Extras
Digital pre-orders are officially open across all platforms. Anyone who reserves their copy of the game prior to 30th September, will secure the exclusive “Retro-Style Red Hare Saddle” pre-order bonus item.
Alongside the standard game, fans can opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition. This premium tier packs the base game with a massive array of digital items, including a starter pack of 42 fusion-ready weapons, a set of powerful items (Six Secret Teachings, Wind Scroll, and Tiger Amulet), an official Officer Concept Art Collection, and a nostalgic collection of 42 retro costumes modeled after the original classic look.
