Today marks one week to go until Lucasfilm’s latest big screen adventure, The Mandalorian & Grogu, lands in cinemas across the UK. Whilst the film itself is embargoed from full reviews until May 19, this morning Disney and Lucasfilm have lifted the embargo for social media reactions.
So far it seems the film is receiving a warm reaction from most with the occasional criticism that the film feels like an extended episode of the series rather than an event worthy of a cinematic release. Take a look at some of the reactions below:
In The Mandalorian & Grogu, the evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.
Directed by Jon Favreau, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is written by Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni & Noah Kloor, and is produced by Jon Favreau, p.g.a., Kathleen Kennedy, p.g.a., Dave Filoni, p.g.a., and Ian Bryce, p.g.a., with Karen Gilchrist, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck serving as executive producers. The music is composed by Ludwig Göransson.
