After debuting the first trailer for Clayface at last week’s CinemaCon presentation it seems DC Studios is gearing up for an official release. Overnight the film’s official social media channels have sprung to life, sharing a first official look at Tom Rhys Harries (Doctor Who) has Matt Hagen. Clayface is due to release in UK cinemas on October 23, 2026.
The image, which you can see in full below, shows Hagen as the cover star of glossy magazine. The headline declares in a rising star which ties to the idea that Hagen – like in Batman: The Animated Series – will be an actor. The actor origin is traditionally tied to the Basil Karlo version of Clayface but was amalgamated with Matt Hagen by Bruce Timm for BTAS.
Does the release of this image confirm rumours that the trailer is about to be released online? Only time will tell…

The Life of Chuck filmmaker Mike Flanagan wrote the first draft of Clayface with additional drafts by Oscar nominated The Wings of a Dove and Drive scribe Hossein Amini.
