Warner Bros. Pictures is updating its 2026 release slate with a couple of key movies on the move. Practical Magic 2 is moving up whilst DC Studios upcoming horror Clayface is moving closer to Halloween in a move likely to benefit its marketing.
Susanne Bier’s Practical Magic sequel, based off a screenplay by Akiva Goldman and Georgia Prichett, now arrives on September 11, 2026. Based on Alice Hoffman’s novel, The Book of Magic, the film stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. Other cast includes Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod with Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing.
Meanwhile Clayface moves from that September 11 slot and now finds itself set to release six weeks later on October 23, 2026. WB has long had the date on hold for an untitled event release. Industry insiders understand that WB is looking for a Spooky Season hit à la Black Phone 2 or Halloween Kills. Clayface hails from a script by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. Producers are Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn, and Peter Safran. EPs are Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Winther, Rafi Crohn, Paul RichieCast: Tom Rhys Harries, Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan.
