To celebrate the release of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, we sat down with some of the cast and crew to discuss all things Avatar– as a superfan, I was in my element. Our first chat was with Oona Chaplin who has joined the franchise as the villainous and twisted Varang, leader of the Mangkwan tribe.
Oone was an absolute delight to talk to, she had such a positive energy that completely washed away any anxieties and fears regarding the junket. Talking to Oona also allowed for an interesting perspective. Unlike Lang (Quaritch), who has done this since 2009, this was Oona’s first trip to Pandora. Not only that, but her presence as our first real Na’vi antagonist shakes up the foundation completely. We love this interview so much and we can’t wait for you to check it out.
