BBC Studios has announced an exclusive Doctor Who online auction, in partnership with auction house Propstore. Running from 3 February to 19 February, the event will give fans globally the opportunity to own a piece of television history. With bids starting at £100, the auction will feature over 200 iconic props and costumes spanning the show’s rich legacy.
Registration for the auction opens today at https://propstoreauction.com/auctions/info/id/494. Out of the 200 lots, bidders will have the chance to own the bronze Time War Dalek. The popular design of the Doctor’s most terrifying foes was first introduced to the series in 2005 and has appeared in multiple episodes since. This specific Dalek was used in Matt Smith’s final series opener, ‘Asylum of the Daleks’.
20% of the net hammer price will go to BBC Children in Need, to help make a difference to the lives of children and young people in communities across the UK. The remaining funds will help BBC Studios reinvest in the storage and preservation of thousands of historic Doctor Who props and costumes, ensuring the show’s heritage is protected for future generations.
“Doctor Who is built on the passion of its fans, and this auction is a way to celebrate that connection,” said Sarah Bold, Head of Marketing, Global Brands and Licensing BBC Studios. “By bidding, fans not only bring home a piece of television history, they also help us protect and preserve the incredible legacy of Doctor Who for future generations, while supporting BBC Children in Need.”
“Propstore is honoured to support BBC Children in Need with another Doctor Who auction,” said Stephen Lane, Founder and CEO at Propstore. “The 2025 Doctor Who charity sale earlier this year, and the response from fans was incredible. This new auction brings an even stronger selection, and we’re excited to see it raise even more for such an important cause.”
“Doctor Who has always been a wonderful friend to BBC Children in Need and we’re delighted to see the Whovian community come together once again,” said Tommy Nagra, Director of Content at BBC Children in Need. “Their support helps raise vital funds to make lives lighter for children and young people across the UK.”
