Now that tickets are officially available for James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, we finally have a runtime, and this third movie is now the longest out of the current trilogy. So, prepare for a long trip to the cinema with plenty of snacks, drinks and trying desperately not to need the toilet when something important is happening on screen… Let’s break it down.
Avatar (2009) – 2hr 42min
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) – 3hr 12min
Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) – 3hr 15min
Yes, that’s correct. Fire and Ash clocks in at 3 hours and 15 minutes, just 3 minutes longer that its predecessor. It’s only a small difference, but it’s enough to cement this notion that each installment will be longer and bigger- even if it’s just by a few minutes. You never know, by Avatar 5, we could be looking at 3 hours 30… And we wouldn’t complain at all- sign us up.
The brief synopsis for Fire and Ash does little to give away the story of this latest entry in the franchise:
With “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family.
