For weeks rumours have persisted that Netflix’s upcoming final season of Stranger Things will feature some epically long episodes. But now Ross Duffer has taken to social media to dispel those rumours… at least for the four episodes currently slated to premiere on November 27, 2025.
Posting a video to his Instagram simply captioned “ACTUAL runtimes,” Duffer scrolls through the Netflix menu showing each of the first four episodes in turn. Chapter One: The Crawl runs for 1 hour and 8 minutes, Chapter Two: The Vanishing of… runs for 54 minutes, Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap runs for 1 hour and 6 minutes, and Chapter Four: Sorcerer runs for 1 hour and 23 minutes.
Prior to Duffer’s post an image had been circulating on social media claiming each of these episodes would run to over 2 hours. In fact if the rumours were to be believed then the eight-episode season was believed to clock in at a total of over 19 hours. But now it seems we can put those rumours to bed…
