Titan Comics has shared a first look at upcoming graphic novel The War of the Worlds: Thunder Child. A dramatic tale which runs parallel to the events of H.G. Wells’ classic novel, The War of the Worlds. The book is set to release in stores on June 2, 2026.
The book follows the exploits of the crew of the eponymous ironclad torpedo ram, the HMS Thunder Child. Sitting alongside the events of Wells’ novel, the story takes place against a backdrop of strange occurrences and creeping terror, all leading up to the Thunder Child’s final heroic showdown with the invaders from Mars.
Thunder Child is described as a terrifying and thrilling tale soaked in blood, recriminations, sacrifice and loss, the first act in a new take on the well-known science-fiction classic with a unique cast and its own story to tell.

The War of the Worlds: Thunder Child is written by Matt Hardy (Cadavers, Last Exit to Brighton) with artists Rob Jones (Hell in Stalingrad) and Kevin Castaniero (The Reason for Dragons, Cocaine Disco). In announcing the book Titan has also shared a series of new preview pages which show off in the incredible artwork and action fans can expect when the book releases in 2026.
