Team Nintendo is currently in the middle of plans to celebrate 40 years since the first appearance of Super Mario. Today, in readiness for the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, the studio along with Illumination has announced the sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie will officially be titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
The sequel takes its name from the 2007 platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii. At the time it was only the third 3D game published as part of the Super Mario franchise. The story of Super Mario Galaxy found the titular plumber heading out in to space after Bowser once again kidnaps Princess Peach and takes her to the centre of the universe.

Returning for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
