    Heroes Will Rise and Legends Will Fall as DC Reveals New Covers for DC K.O. #1

    Last month DC Comics announced its latest event series, DC K.O., and now the publisher is lifting the lid with new cover art and details. Fans counting down the days until the bell rings on the biggest comic book event of the year have until October 8, 2025 when the first issue arrives in comic book stores.

    From superstar creative team Scott Snyder and Javi Fernández, DC K.O. #1 will launch the DC Universe into an epic new era. To celebrate the battle royale of the century, DC has this week announced the DC K.O. #1 “Lights Out” Polybag Special Edition, featuring spectacular foil variant covers by a lineup of superstar artists.

    Each “Lights Out” polybag will include one foil variant cover version of DC K.O. #1, selected at random from the following:

    Javi Fernández
    Jim Lee
    Daniel Warren Johnson
    Mike Del Mundo
    Frank Cho
    Jae Lee
    Scott Koblish (front cover only)
    Ben Oliver
    Noobovich
    Mark Spears
    Dan Mora bracket variant
    DC/AEW variant by Dan Mora
    Greg Capullo

    Heating up the action even further, alternate additional foil versions of the DC K.O. covers by Mark Spears, Javi Fernández, Jim Lee, Greg Capullo will be randomly inserted into the polybags as chase 1:100, 1:250, 1:500, and 1:1000 ratio variants, respectively. These special foil chase variants are not available outside of the polybags.

    From bracket reveals to creator commentary, follow dc.com and @DCOfficial for everything fans need to stay on top of DC’s biggest comic book event of the year! The bell may ring in October, but the bout has only begun. DC K.O

    . unfolds across five explosive monthly issues, each descending deeper into the cosmic tournament and the moral reckoning at its core. As the Heart of Apokolips pulses stronger, secrets will unravel, heroes will clash in shocking pairings, and the true cost of becoming King Omega will be revealed. With each round, the DC Universe gets closer to its breaking point—and victory may come at a price no hero is willing to pay.
