From tomorrow, visitors to London’s Natural History Museum can get up close to the Xenomorph egg from FX’s highly anticipated upcoming series, Alien: Earth. The display is situated opposite the entrance to the Museum’s blockbuster exhibition, Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth? where visitors can touch real pieces of the solar system. Visitors and fans alike can bear witness to the first stage in the life cycle of the Xenomorph in this special display, for a limited time celebrating the release of FX’s Alien: Earth.

FX’s Alien: Earth will see the iconic Xenomorph crash land on Earth and our screens for the first time. Ahead of its premiere on Disney+ in the UK on 13th August, Disney have produced a new and curious exhibit for display at London’s Natural History Museum, whose world-leading scientists work on international space missions searching for life beyond Earth.

Take a look at a video of the egg arriving on site earlier today in the player below:

Handled with great care and trepidation, the Xenomorph egg sits in pride of place at the Natural History Museum, one of the world’s leading scientific research centres with over 400 scientists working to tackle the biggest challenges facing the world today. The Museum has a vast collection of 80 million objects, spanning 4.5 billion years of life on Earth, from the formation of the solar system to the present day. Nestled amongst thousands of items on display in the Museum’s South Kensington galleries, this ‘specimen’ is very much not of our world.

Prof Caroline Smith, planetary scientist at the NHM, says “Extraterrestrial life and the secrets of the solar system have forever fascinated humans. It’s a treat to have one of the most iconic depictions of alien life opposite our fantastic exhibition, which reveals the very latest scientific discoveries as it explores the age-old question – are we alone in the universe?”

From 9th August, and for the next two weeks (until 22nd August), visitors and sci-fi fans alike will behold the first stage in the life cycle of one of entertainment’s most iconic and terrifying creatures.

As one of the Universe’s ultimate apex predators comes to our small screens, and Earth, for the first time, perhaps we were safer in space.

One of the biggest questions asked of science is, are we alone in the universe? More than ever before, scientists believe that life could exist beyond Earth. The Museum’s first ever exhibition dedicated to space, Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth? explores what we know so far. Visitors can smell planets, touch real pieces of the Moon and Mars, design their own space mission and see what scientists believe could be out there in this out-of-this-world exhibition.

This exclusive Disney+ display at the Natural History Museum celebrates the release of FX’s Alien: Earth allowing visitors and fans alike to explore if there could be life beyond Earth.

FX’s Alien: Earth premieres Wednesday, August 13 with the first two episodes available to stream on Disney+ in the UK. A new episode of the 8-episode season will premiere each following Wednesday on Disney+.
