Overnight at the CCXP event in Brazil, DC Studios’ own James Gunn appeared alongside John Cena to present fans with a new look at the upcoming second season of Peacemaker. The series will return to Max in the US on August 21, 2025 with UK airdates soon to be confirmed.
The pair had confirmed before the event that they would be attending to dish the dirt on season two. We had anticipated they might bring a new trailer with them but instead we got something much cooler. The pair showed off a new hype sizzle reel packed with footage from season 2 as well as behind-the-scenes looks. It certainly seems like season 2 is going to be bigger, bolder and braver than season 1 if this video is anything to do by.

Peacemaker stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick return for season two. New cast members include Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows.
James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of season two and directed three, including the first episode. Gunn, Peter Safran, and John Cena serve as executive producers. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Althea Jones also direct. Based on characters from DC, Peacemaker is produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.
