Star Wars Celebration is always a gift. It’s a yearly gift where fans can share their passion with other fans and creators, and it’s also an opportunity for Disney and Lucasfilm to announce upcoming projects and new routes the franchise will be taking. We’ve had films, TV series, new action figures and books.

A fairly new avenue for the franchise recently has been Japanese manga, which seems absolutely fitting considering this year’s Celebration was taking place in Tokyo. At the “Lucasfilm Publishing: Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away ….” panel, we were bombarded with a lot of exciting content that’ll be hitting our stores in the future. One particularly exciting one for me personally was a Thrawn manga adaptation.

Man Tsang will be adapting Timothy Zahn’s Star Wars: Thrawn novel from 2017, which focuses heavily on Mitth’raw’nuruodo’s early history within the Empire, from being found on a deserted planet to being noticed by Emperor Palpatine himself.

As a long-time lover of Thrawn, I’m absolutely estatic about having more Thrawn content coming my way. However, there’s even more on the horizon, so let’s take a look at what else is instore for us Star Wars fans.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III – The Battle of Eriadu

Writer Alyssa Wong (Doctor Aphra) steps back into the era of the High Republic for Phase III with a story centering on Jedi Padawan Gavi and his friend-turned-enemy Driggit Parse.

Star Wars: The High Republic: Trials of the Jedi

This four-year journey exploring the wonders of the High Republic is nearing its end. Charles Soule’s Trial of the Jedi will close this chapter with an epic confrontation against Marchion Ro and his Nameless Force-eating creature. The novel will be released this June.

Star Wars: The High Republic – Fear of the Jedi

Cavan Scott returns for the final arc of The High Republic with his comic book miniseries Fear of the Jedi. This special one shot will help conclude Phase III and will focus on the aftermath of the battle between the Jedi and Nihil. This issue is set to be released in July.

Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown

In a surprise twist, we will be getting more content from the world of The Acolyte. Tessa Gratton brings us a young-adult novel featuring Jecki Lon, Yord Fander and Master Sol. The adventure will be set before the events of The Acolyte, and will be available to buy on July 29th, 2025.

    Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: Codebreaker

Poe Dameron and BB-8 are back for a four-issue series by Ethan Sacks. Arriving just in time for The Force Awakens‘ 10th anniversary, The short run will launch in April and will see Poe go up against an infamous and extremely skilled TIE Fighter pilot while trying to uncover the truth behind some First Order tech that can decode transmissions.

    Star Wars: Legacy of Vader

Charles Soule’s ongoing series set between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker will take Kylo Ren’s journey to finish Vader’s mission in a new and exciting direction. A new leader of the Knights of ren has appeared. Kylo Ren will face down Tava Ren, an Order 66 survivor, in the upcoming issues of Soule’s hit series.

    Star Wars: Jedi Knight

Ahmed Best’s Jedi Knight Kelleran Ben will be featured in the 8th issue of Star Wars‘ newest series along with some of the galaxy’s most familiar keepers of the peace. Issue 8 will be available in October.

Star Wars: A New Hope Manga Artbook

Hisao Tamaki’s original manga of Star Wars: A New Hope is getting its very own artbook. The book will feature original scanned art boards, margin notes, drawings, as well as the original Japanese text. The artbook will come with two Kickstarter editions’ the two-volume Collector’s Edition with English translation and the large-format Masterpiece Edition.

    Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Cal Kestis and the Stinger Mantis crew will be taking the leap from video game to manga adaptation with the interior artwork being done by Mangado and Sideranch.

Star Wars: Path of the Lightsaber

This falls, fans will be able to enjoy a brand new manga series written and illustrated by Kenny Ruiz. The new series will be set during the sequel era and will feature new heroes and villains from across the galaxy.

    Star Wars: Masters of Evil

Adam Christopher has something very special planned for Vader fans this November. Masters of Evil will explore Vader’s dark history before A New Hope as he pursues the power to conquer death. The chilling novel from the bestselling author will be available on November 11th, 2025.

Star Wars Celebration is now almost and boy, was it a good one! 2027’s Celebration will be heading to Los Angeles, so make sure you sign up for tickets and prepare for an unforgettable weekend fully immersed in Star Wars.
