Lucasfilm and Disney revealed the first official look at The Mandalorian And Grogu movie during the first day of this year’s Star Wars Celebration event, which is currently taking place in Tokyo. Creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni took to the stage to introduce the footage to the lucky fans attending the convention.
The two Star Wars gurus were then joined by stars Pedor Pascal and Sigourney Weaver who briefly spoke about the project and their experiences joining the Star Wars universe. As of right now, there’s no telling when this trailer will arrive online for everyone else, but we hope it’s soon. While we wait, we do have a very brief description of the trailer below.
The Mandalorian And Grogu is set to blast onto the big screen on May 22nd, 2026. This will mark the first big screen event for the franchise since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
Trailer Description:
Snowtroopers are preparing to engage in battle inside an AT-AT, but Mando swoops in and takes them all out in a stunning one-shot hallway fight scene. It turns out that Mando is now working for Sigourney Weaver’s character, potentially returning to his bounty hunting days or perhaps there’s something larger at play. The reel included multiple battles and skirmishes including AT-ATs and AT-Ts, Grogu swimming and using his powers to destory a Mouse Droid, as well as some familiar faces. Rebels’ Zeb appears alongside Mando, and we get our first look at Jeremy Allen White character Rotta the Hutt (who first appeared in The Clone Wars Movie). It’s hard to tell what’s happening with Jabba’s son, but he appears to be in a fighting arena while Grogu enjoys the view from the stands. Could Mando be forced into a Gladiator-esque situation?
Star Wars Celebration is now in full-swing so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for more news regarding films, shows, books, comics, and collectibles. It’s going to be an insane weekend in Japan and we can’t wait to bask in all of the excitement.
