Yesterday, the starts of James Gunn’s Superman appeared in a new video on social media to confirm that an extended clip from the film was coming. Last night, that clip was shown off for the first time to audiences at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The clip is expected to debut in cinemas alongside Minecraft which releases later this week. Warner Bros. Pictures is also expected to debut the clip online to get ahead of any pirated copies being shared from the cinema. But all that comes after the clip was shown to a packed house last night at Gunn, Peter Safran, plus stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult took to the stage to introduction the five-minute preview.
The scene opens much like the film’s first trailer, with Corenswet’s Man of Steel crashing in to the snow, injured. After calling Krypto for help, Superman is taken back to the Fortress of Solitude where his injures are attended to by Kelex and other Kryptonian robots. Whilst Superman tries to thank his carers for their assistance they protest their lack of sentience. After healing, Superman attempts to leave the Fortress only to forget Krypto and find his canine companion chewing on his boots. The clip then transitions in to a montage similar to the rest of the first trailer.
