Production is now officially underway here in the UK on DC Studios second theatrical release, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Whilst we don’t have any official images from the set we do have news today of two new additions to the cast of the Craig Gillespie directed film.
As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Emily Beecham (The Covenant) have joined the cast in pivotal roles. The pair join the production in the roles of Kara Zor-El’s (Milly Alcock, House of the Dragon) parents, Zor-El and Alura In-Ze.
Krumholtz and Beecham join Alcock alongside Eve Ridley as Ruthye, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem and the recently announced Jason Momoa as alien bounty hunter Lobo. The film was scripted by Ana Nogueira who is now also rumoured to be being eyed for further DC Studios projects after impressing James Gunn and Peter Safran with her work on the Woman of Tomorrow story.
The film is based on the comic book miniseries of the same name by celebrated writer Tom King and artist Bilquis Evely.
