The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise can celebrate crossing a huge milestone after officially grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. With the third movie out, the arrival of Shadow and the return of Jim Carrey’s Robotnik proved to be enough to allow the blue hedgehog to speed past this amazing milestone. Since audiences are loving this third installment, it’s safe to say that the total will keep on growing. Regardless of how much it makes from this point,
Here’s a breakdown of the entire franchise so far:
- Sonic the Hedghehog – $320 million
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2 – $405.4 million
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3 – $336.3 million (currently)
Total gross = $1.06 billion
Now that a fourth movie has been confirmed, who knows how high this franchise will soar. But we can all agree that nothing is slowing this hedgehog down. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be arriving sometime in 2027. As always, we will keep you posted when more news arrives from Green Hills.
