Well, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 isn’t even out yet, so this is both very surprising and incredibly exciting. Variety has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is in development and is set to be released in 2027. According to the report, Sonic 3 is shaping up to be a Christmas hit for Patamount with an estimated gross of $55-$60 million from 3,800 North American theaters on Friday. With a healthy projection and some impressive reviews flooding in- 87% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, Paramount seem very confident in Sonic’s ability to generate money and laughs.
Sonic voice actor Ben Schwartz took to Instagram to confirm the news. With the announcement officially out in the wild, theories have been popping up everywhere debating who will be the next character to appear in the franchise and how this third installment sets up the future. Well. we’ve been sworn to secrecy, but we advice hanging around until the very end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
So, there you have it. We will be getting a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie in 2027. Once Sonic 3 is out, we’re certain that things will be a lot clearer, but as of right now… We don’t really know what this 4th movie will include. All we know is that Sonic is picking up speed and clearly has no plans of slowing down. What else could be on the horizon for the blue blur and his friends?
