Today we’re taking a look at one of DC’s first big comic book launches of 2025. After more than a three year absence Arthur Curry, the King of Atlantis, is returning in a brand new Aquaman #1 from writer Jeremy Adams.
In the wake of Absolute Power, Arthur Curry’s powers have evolved to powerful new heights, and this is one king ready to use them to kick some serious butt. Mammoth water-construct Kaijus have emerged from each of the seven seas, and only Aquaman’s water-warping abilities can stop them—but not if they kill the good king in the process! Enter Dagon, Arthur’s guide on the quest to unlock the secrets of the “blue.” But what deadly secret awaits Arthur on his journey?
Issue #1 features a main cover from series artist John Timms and variant cover designs from Ivan Reis, Brad Walker, Tula Lotay, Salvador Larroca, Christian Ward and Brad Walker. Aquaman #1 will also ship with a blank sketch cover ready for 2025’s comic con artist alley! Here’s a look at each of the cover designs:
As well as those incredible covers, DC has also released a series of new unlettered page previews featuring John Timms’ interior artwork. If this doesn’t convince you to pre-order your copy then nothing will!
Aquaman #1 will release in comic book stores and on digital platforms on January 8, 2025. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.
