The cast of DC Studios’ Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is continuing to take shape. Overnight and ahead of the film’s planned production start in early 2025, it has been confirmed director Craig Gillespie has found his Ruthye Knoll.
As revealed by Deadline, 3 Body Problem actress Eve Ridley has landed the part of Kara’s companion on her journey across the stars. Woman of Tomorrow is based on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s 2022 comic book series of the same name. In that book Ruthye joins with Kara in the hunt for her father’s killer.
As well as appearing in D.B. Weiss, David Benioff and Alexander Woo’s 3 Body Problem series on Netflix the actress also had a role on BBC’s Casualty. She joins the recently confirmed Rust and Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts who takes on the role of killer Krem.
Woman of Tomorrow will be the second DC Studios’ project to begin production following Gunn’s own Superman which is set to release in July 2025. The film is eying a January start here in the U.K. and has a June 26, 2026, release date. Craig Gillespie is directing for DC Studios with breakout House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock leading as Kara Zor-el aka Supergirl.
