In October, ARROW presents Halloween treats aplenty with seven outstanding J-Horror chillers, a month’s worth of premium frights, including folk horror Sator and Wil Wheaton in Rent-A-Pal as well as Shocktober31, horror director Michael Dougherty and horror fest Celluloid Screams choose their faves, and more.
Also next month, folk horror in the form of Sator, about a supernatural entity in a forest trying to take over a family living in a remote cabin; atmospheric chills in Come True directed by Anthony Scott Burns (Our House); a gloriously gory remake of slasher classic Slumber Party Massacre; and two creepy and dread-filled odes to the days of VHS, Jacob Gentry’s unnerving Broadcast Signal Intrusion, and Jon Stevenson’s Grimmfest and Sitges winning Rent-A-Pal, starring and Brian Landis Folkins (Hoax) and Wil Wheaton (Stand By Me).
ARROW continues its commitment to showing the best in offbeat short films, with a selection of hilarious horror comedies – Blood Shed, starring Shaun Dooley and Sally Phillips, from Severance writer James Moran, the SXSW Film Festival Midnight Short We Forgot About The Zombies, and Marcus Meedt’s Werewolf, where a fun game amongst friends takes a turn for the peculiar.
