It’s been a little while since we had any updated on DC Studios’ planned Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film. The film, currently slated to release in 2026, may have received a major update overnight thanks to online crew listings.
Talent agency Independent Talent has updated their profile for costume designer Anna B. Sheppard to include Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. If the DC film become’s Sheppard’s next project it will be her third comic book film following Spider-Man: Far From Home and Captain America: The First Avenger. The legendary designer also worked on huge titles Maleficent and most recently Paramount’s Bob Marley: One Love.
Woman of Tomorrow adapts the comic book of the same name, written by Tom King and artist Bilquis Evely. The screenplay for the film has been written by Ana Nogueira and I, Tonya directed Craig Gillespie is helming the film.
Whilst some casting rumours have begun to circulated we’re avoiding those until we can verify their authenticity. But we do know that House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock is taking on the role of Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl. The character is expected to make her debut in next year’s Superman.
