Picturehouse Entertainment has debuted a tense and chilling trailer for upcoming film noir thriller Only the River Flows. The film, written by and directed by Wei Shujjun, comes to UK and Irish cinemas in August 2024.
1990s, Banpo Town, rural China. A woman’s body is found by the river. Ma Zhe, Chief of the Criminal Police, heads up the murder investigation that quickly leads to an obvious arrest. As his superiors are keen to communicate their success, several clues push Ma Zhe to delve deeper into the hidden behaviour of his fellow citizens.

Written and directed by Wei Shujjun, One the River Flows is based on the novel “Mistake by the River” by Yu Hua. The film stars Yilong Zhu, Chloe Mayan and Tianlai Hou.
Only the River Flows will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on August 16, 2024.
