Exciting news coming from THR this evening. After rumours began to circulate last week it now appears that Scarlett Johansson is official in talks with Universal Pictures to lead the next Jurassic World film.
The news that Johansson is in talks to headline the film comes hot on the heals of confirmation that The Creator director Gareth Edwards had signed on to direct the film. The script for the as-yet untitled film comes from original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp.
The studio has also previously announced a July 2025 release date. With that date rapidly creeping up it’s understood that Universal is looking to fast-track the talks with Johansson in order to get cameras rolling as soon as is possible.
No plot details have been revealed about the film, the seventh in the overall Jurassic franchise and the fourth to (potentially) carry the Jurassic World title.
